February 25, 2012 -- The Emporia State softball team fell 3-2 to St. Mary's of Texas in the Best Western Spring Fling held in Denton, Texas. Due to internet problems in Texas complete stats are not available at this time.

The game winning run scored with the bases loaded as Jessica Brewer made a diving catch in center field and threw to second to double-up the runner for the third out. However the St. Mary's runner on third base scored before the out at second was recorded giving the Rattlers the one run lead.

The Hornets will face Texas A&M-International at 9 a.m. and Quincey at 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 26 as Julie LeMaire goes for 100th win as a head coach.
