February 11, 2012 -- Jennifer Heerey took a no hitter into the fifth inning and threw a three hit shutout in the Emporia State softball team's 6-0 win over St. Mary's. The Hornets tallied ten hits and took advantage of three Rattler errors to seal the victory.


 The Hornets struck first in the third inning when Andrea Piezuch scored a run on a Rattler error. The Hornets tacked on two more in the fourth inning as Piezuch hit a two RBI double. ESu would add three more run in the bottom of the fith inning as Taylor Zordel and Katie Huffman added RBI hits.

Piezuch went three for four with two runs batted in and a run scored to lead the Hornets. Zordel finished one for three on the day and also added two RBI. Huffman finished two for four with a run scored and an RBI. The Hornets got four doubles in the ballgame from four different hitters.
