CLASSIC ROCK
Emporia State travels to Kansas City, Mo. for the second weekend of the season to take on competition at the Rockhurst Classic.

THE COACHES
Bing Xu is in his 14th year as head coach for Emporia State. He holds a record of 268-154 and has led the Hornets to five NCAA Tournament appearances.
Joel McCartney is in his eighth year as head coach for the University of Sioux Falls.
Carolyn Raynes is in her fifth year as head coach at William Jewell.
Dave Flemming is in his 14th year as head coach at Colorado Mesa.
Tracy Rietzke is in his 31st year as head coach at Rockhurst.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State began the season 1-3 at the Lady Buffs Classic in Canyon, TX. The Hornets are led by senior Tatum Graves who made all tournament team with her 48 kills on .295 hitting percentage with 16 blocks on the weekend. Senior Jamie Hauptman added 38 kills for the Hornets while junior setter, Emma Dixon had 101 assists and junior libero, Allie Maloney had 62 digs.

ABOUT SIOUX FALLS
Sioux Falls started the season 2-2 in the Oredigger Volleyball Classic in Golden, Co. The Cougars are led by Bria Barfnecht with 59 kills followed by Lexi Scott with 41 and Makenna Rockeman with 39. Defensively, Kasandra Springer leads the Cougars with 61 digs. This will be the first meeting between Emporia State and Sioux Falls.

ABOUT WILLIAM JEWELL
William Jewell started the season 1-3 at the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, KS. The Cardinals are led by Maddie Wingert with 35 kills followed by Grace Baucom with 29 and Paityn Hardison with 28. Olivia Tolberd leads with 93 digs while Lacey Albers has 19 blocks. This will be the fifth meeting between the two teams with ESU leading the all-time series 4-0.
 
ABOUT COLORADO MESA
Colorado Mesa started the season 2-2 at the Concordia-Irvine Invitational in Irvine, CA. The Mavericks are led by Kasie Gilfert with 47 kills and 19 blocks followed by Camille Smith with 31 kills and Hailey Crane with 27. Taylor Woods leads with 83 digs. This will be the first meeting between Emporia State and Colorado Mesa.

ABOUT ROCKHURST
Rockhurst started the season 4-0 at the Lady Buffs Classic in Canyon, TX. The Hawks are led by Alyssa Woodman with 54 kills on a .383 hitting percentage. Emma Kriete adds 34 kills along with 17 blocks while Emily Matio leads the team with 19 blocks. Kalie Arnold leads the Hawks with 50 digs while Karli Reichert adds 32. This will be the 21st meeting between Emporia State and Rockhurst with the Hornets leading the all-time series 12-8.

NEXT SERVE
The Hornets travel to Oklahoma where they will face East Central University and Ouachita Baptist on Friday, Sept. 7 in Shawnee, Ok and Ark. Tech and Southeastern Ok. State on Saturday, Sept. 8. in Edmond, Ok.
