May 17, 2013-Emporia State's Alex Crowe was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A biochemistry and molecular biology major with a 3.83 GPA, Crowe is a member of the Dean’s List, the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, and D2 Athletic Directors Association Achievement Award list.  She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Eta Sigma and Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Societies.  She will graduate Magna Cum Laude on Saturday. She was named the Newberg Outstanding Senior at Emporia State and was the Emporia State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Wal-Mart Without Peer Award winner.  Crowe earned All-MIAA three times in her career.  She was a member of Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Caduceus Society and Chi Omega Sorority. She has helped with Make A Wish, Relay for Life, Sleep in Box, and St. Jude Up til Dawn among her over 500 hours of community service.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. The Capital One Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2012-13 D-II Academic All-America® teams program.
