August 20, 2025-Emporia State has had a first-team All-MIAA performer at outside hitter in each of coach Ken Murczek's first two seasons.
 
Camilla Ossola was named honorable mention All-MIAA last season and has taken on a more significant leadership role this year. She is one of the best athletes on the team with the versatility to play either on the left side or right side for ESU. She had a career high 21 kills against Northwest Missouri last season.
 
Nyia Anderson is a grad transfer from Ark-Ft. Smith. She earned honorable mention All-MIAA last year and honorable mention All-Lone Star Conference honors in 2023 for the Lions. She had 12 kills against Emporia State last year and a season high 19 kills against UC-Colorado Springs.
 
Lavra Krizanic is in her first year with the Hornets. She is a dynamic young outside who excelled at the junior level in Slovenia. She has a fast arm and can play six rotations and will be a strong addition to the outside hitter group.
 
Kenzie Perdue is a freshman for Emporia State.  She was an All-Ark Valley Chisholm Trail league selection in volleyball for Arkansas City HS. She was a two-time KSHSAA Class 5A state champion in the high jump, clearing a school record 5-6.25 at the Shocker Pre-State Challenge.
 
Emma Klett is a freshman from Tucson, Ariz. with a strong arm and has the length to be a force at the net. She earned First Team All-Region honors while finishing in the top five of career kills at Ironwood Ridge HS.
 
The Hornets will open the regular season in San Diego, Calif. on Thursday, September 4 against Point Loma.  The first home match is scheduled for Friday, September 26 against Missouri Western and will be the MIAA opener.
 
Outside Hitter Notes
There is one grad student, one senior and three freshmen among the hitters.
Both upperclassmen are transfers to Emporia State.
The hitters come from Kansas, Texas, Arizona, Italy and Slovenia – although Camilla Ossola attended Silver Lake (Kan.) HS.
