December 11, 2025 – Along with their first season with 20 or more wins since 2012, Emporia State volleyball compiled a list of accomplishments in their third season under
Ken Murczek.
After falling in their first two matches against opponents that were nationally ranked or receiving votes, the Hornets rattled off 13 consecutive wins, the longest winning streak for the program since 2009. The final win of the stretch came in a five-set comeback on the road against Pittsburg State.
Over the next five matches, the Hornets would pick up two ranked wins, including a sweep of #2 Nebraska-Kearney, which proved to be the highest ranked win over a D-II opponent in program history. Emporia State would tally four ranked wins on the season, with the final one coming on the road against the third-ranked Lopers to complete the season sweep.
On October 20, the Hornets made their first appearance of the season in the AVCA Coaches Poll, earning the 25th spot in the rankings. The ranking marked the first time since 2011 the Hornets have been ranked in the poll.
At the end of the season, Emporia State would end up with a 21-7 record, after going 12-4 in MIAA action during the regular season. The Hornets would also finish as the 23rd-ranked team in the AVCA Poll, #21 in the final KPI standings, and eighth in the central region.
The Hornets also received multiple individual awards at the end of the season, which included
Nyia Anderson earning First Team All-MIAA honors at outside hitter while
Lavra Krizanic was named the MIAA Freshman of the Year. Krizanic also earned Second Team All-MIAA recognition, along with libero
Boglarka Rady.
Brailee Bogle and
Mia Frisbie both earned Honorable Mention at setter and Frisbie, and for Bogle she has earned All-MIAA honors in three straight seasons.
Following the MIAA Tournament,
Camilla Ossola was recognized as a member of the MIAA All-Tournament Team as the senior had 13 kills on .522 hitting in three sets during the Hornets' quarterfinal match.
