July 22, 2025-Both the Emporia State men's and women's tennis teams earned All-Academic Team honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) with 13 total Hornets being named ITA Scholar Athletes.

To be named an ITA Scholar Athlete and individual must have a 3.5 GPA for the recently completed academic year. The seven men named ITA Scholar Athletes were
Diego Calvo,
Jan Engel,
Roko Kacer,
Harris Kossover,
Alexis Mattenberger,
Gwendal Mazuay and
Anton Sarunic while
Perla Conde Vendrell, Yulima Klimova,
Anastasia Pesic,
Andrea Santiago,
Paige Stranghoner and
Sheriden Wichman were the six who earned the honor for the women.

Both the men's and women's programs received ITA All-Academic Team honors. To earn the All-Academic Team designation a program needs a 3.20 combined GPA from all student-athletes listed on the institutional eligibility form for the academic year.

As a team the Emporia State men finished the spring 11-8 overall and advanced to the MIAA-GAC Tournament. Â It was the first trip to the post season for the Hornet men since they competed in the 2019 MIAA Tournament prior to the MIAA and GAC joining into a scheduling alliance for the 2019-20 school year. The Emporia State women were ranked #10 in the final ITA Central Regional Rankings. The Hornets finished the season 10-10 with a 5-4 conference record and advanced to the MIAA Tournament as the #5 seed.
