February 12, 2025 – Emporia State's Lilie Bizouerne was named the MIAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week following the Hornets' pair of wins to begin the spring season.
 
Bizouerne went undefeated in both #1 doubles and #3 singles in the first two matches for Emporia State. She partnered with Paige Stranghoner to pick up a 6-2 win in doubles against Ottawa, before ending the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at #3 singles to complete the sweep over the Braves.
 
Against McPherson, Bizouerne helped take #1 doubles, this time 6-1 before moving to 2-0 at #3 singles with a 6-1, 7-5 win over the Bulldogs.
 
The Hornets will be back in action on Sunday, February 16 as they travel to Springfield, Mo. for a match against Drury. Emporia State's next home match will be on Sunday, February 23 as they play Seward County at the Kossover Family Tennis Complex.
