November 17, 2025-Emporia State linebacker Landon Boss has been named the MIAA Football Defensive Player of the Week, presented by FieldTurf for the third time this season.

Boss led Emporia State with a career high 14 tackles, two sacks and career-high seven quarterback hurries as the Hornets held the Tigers to 188 yards of total offense. Emporia State forced FHSU into five straight three-and-outs in the second quarter.

He leads the MIAA in sacks and tackles for loss and is second in solo tackles. The junior from Osage City, Kan. is fifth in the nation in solo tackles, ninth in tackles for loss,  and 11th sacks.  His ten sacks and 18 tackles for loss this year both rank fourth on the ESU single-season list.
