February 5, 2022-Emporia State track and field picked up school record, two runner-up finishes, four provisional qualifiers, and 12 top ten finishes at the Bearcat Invitational on Saturday at Hughes Fieldhouse in Maryville, Mo.
 
Jenna Ramsey continues to put her name in the record books at Emporia State.  She ran a school record 9:43.86 while finishing second in the women's 3000m and was the top MIAA finisher in the event.  She broke Katie Mona's record of 9:47.15 set at the 2012 UCM Invite.  The provisional qualifier is currently ranked 19^th in the nation.
 
Travis Morrison finished second in the men's shot put with a provisional mark of 55-5.75 (16.91m) to rank 22^nd in the nation.  It is a season's best and the second best indoor mark of his career behind a throw of 55-07 (16.94m) at the MIAA Challenge last year.
 
The duo of Megan McManis and Allie Barrett continue to put up provisional marks in the pole vault.  They both cleared 12-2 (3.71m) with McManis finishing fourth and Barrett sixth based on misses.  It is the second best vault of McManis career and ties Barrett's career best which ranks second in ESU history.
 
The Hornets will be back in action next weekend at the Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan.  Things will get started on Friday, February 11 with field events at 2:00 p.m. followed by running events at 3:00 p.m.  Saturday's running events will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the first field events scheduled for 12 noon at the Plaster Center.
