ROAD TRIP
Emporia State travels to Tahlequah,Okla. for a three game series with Northeastern State. The series was moved to Sunday-Monday due to weather.

LAST AT BAT
Missouri Western scored nine runs in the first two innings on the way to a 19-4 win over Emporia State. Cooper Minnick went four for four with four stolen bases, three doubles and two runs scored while Sam Chaput was three for three with an RBI, two runs scored, a home run and a stolen base.  

THE COACHES
Seth Wheeler is 52-48 in his third season as the Hornets head coach. He is 2-1 against Northeastern State.
Jake Hendrick is 118-131 in his sixth year as head coach of the RiverHawks. He is 2-10 against Emporia State.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 12-19, 8-16 in the MIAA. As a team they are hitting .300 with a 7.05 ERA and .958 fielding percentage. As a team they are second in the MIAA in steals and third in batting average. Brady Michel is leading the MIAA with a .422 batting average and ranks second with a .508 on base percentage. Blake Carroll is leading the nation with six triples. SCOUTING THE RIVERHAWKS
Northeastern State is 20-10 overall with a 17-7 mark in MIAA play. As a team, the Griffons have a .295 batting average, a 4.99 staff ERA, and .974 team fielding percentage. Brayden Rodden is fifth in the MIAA with nine homers, ranks seventh with 31 RBI and ninth with 32 runs scored. Nic Swanson leads the MIAA with a 1.02 ERA, is second with 79 strikeouts and fifth in opponents batting average.

Emporia State leads the all-time series 18-6 and have won 10 of the last 11 meetings.

LAST AT BAT AGAINST NORTHEASTERN ST.
Emporia State wrapped up another series win with a 9-6 victory at Northeastern State. The Hornets got on the board first with a Connor Hurst RBI double in the top of the first inning.  Brian Grove put the Hornets in front to stay with a two run homer in the top of the fifth. In the sixth Grove and Cooper Minnick each walked with the bases loaded to drive in a run each. Tyrus Barclay gave the Hornets an insurance run with an RBI single in the ninth. Tucker Perkins delivered a pinch hit double that scored two an put the Hornets up 9-5. Grove was one for three with three walks, three RBI and two runs scored while Barclay went two for four with an RBI and two runs scored. Ryan Lee went 7.0 innings, allowing five runs, four of them earned, on eight hits with four strikeouts.

The Hornets play host to Fort Hays State in their final home action. The three game series starts at 6 pm on April 30 at Trusler.
