December 3, 2021-Emporia State opened the 2021-22 indoor track and field season on Friday at the Boo Rogers Combined Multis at Pittsburg State.
 
For the Emporia State women Victoria Pettay was the top individual finisher in the pentathlon, placing 18^th with 2,882 points.  Mary Grace Lassiter finished 29^th overall with 1881 points.
 
Coby Smith is competing in the men's heptathlon and his best finish in day one was a tie for 13^th in the high jump.
 
The men's heptathlon will conclude on Saturday followed by the Crimson & Gold Invitational in Pittsburg.
