February 4, 2017 - The Emporia State softball team split day two of the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Tournament, losing 3-1 to East Central and defeating Southwestern Oklahoma 1-0 with a walk off.
EAST CENTRAL
East Central was the first to score with an RBI double in the third inning to go up 1-0. Emporia State did not score until the sixth inning when Sarah Glass brought Danielle Sprinkle in with a double to left center. The Tigers answered with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to go up 3-1 and eventually win the game. Eryn Stockman pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and no walks, allowing only six hits.
SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA
The two teams were scoreless all the way until the seventh and final inning when Hailey Cope had a walk off single to score McKenna Davis and give the Hornets a 1-0 win. Davis hit two for four with two stolen bases. Kaelah McMullin picked up the win, pitching 2.0 innings and allowing only one hit in relief.
The Hornets will finish competing in the Southeastern Oklahoma State Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 5. Emporia State will face Cameron University at 9:30 a.m. and Southeastern Oklahoma at 12:00 p.m.
