#30 HORNETS SWEEP LINCOLN WITH 19-7 WIN

Ryan McBroom with two home runs, hitting four for four with six RBI

March 6, 2016 - The #30 Hornets finished their sweep of Lincoln - Mo. Sunday afternoon with a 19-7 win. Seven different Hornets had home runs on the day.

SLOW START
The Blue Tigers started the game quick, scoring a run off one hit in the top of the first inning. Emporia State would not answer until the bottom of the second inning to tie the game 1-1. After a scoreless third inning, Lincoln - Mo. would take the lead again, 3-1, going into the bottom of the fourth inning.

BOTTOM OF THE FOURTH
The Hornets' bats came alive in the bottom of the fourth, brining in 16 runs off of 14 hits. Five different Hornets had home runs in the fourth inning, led by Ryan McBroom with a grand slam. Evan Koehler had two home runs both a solo home run and a two run home run. Levi Ashmore, BJ Dean, and Derek Francis each had a two run home run in the fourth.

BY THE NUMBERS
Ryan McBroom had another home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to total two for the game. McBroom was four for four on the day with six RBI and three runs scored. Evan Koehler hit three for four with three RBI and three runs scored. BJ Dean went two for four with three RBI and two runs scored. Dalton Wheat went three for four with three runs scored while Wade Hanna went two for four with two runs scored. Jordan Plank picked up a win for the day, improving to 3-0 on the season. Plank had eight strike outs through four innings with no walks. 

UP NEXT
The #30 Hornets will travel to Wichita, Kan. to have a rematch with Newman University on Tuesday, March 8. First Pitch will be at 3:00 p.m.
