At the end of the 2017 regular season, Plank has tossed 54.0 innings in 11 starts. He is 6-1 on the season with a 6.17 ERA. Plank has 44 strikeouts and 20 walks with a .309 opponent batting average.

As a junior last season at Emporia State, Plank started 12 games and had 19 appearances. He finished with 74.1 innings pitched, 80 strikeouts, an 8-3 record and a 4.00 ERA. Plank was an Honorable Mention MIAA selection.

As a sophomore as Barton County Community College in 2015, Plank had 12 starts and went 7-2 with a 2.91 ERA (5^th overall in the Jayhawk Conference) in 77.1 innings with 55 strikeouts. He was an Honorable Mention Jayhawk West All-Conference selection. Plank also won two Gold Glove Awards as a pitcher, one for the Jayhawk West Conference and one for Region VI.

Academic honors include the Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence for a 4.00 GPA over two years at Barton.

As a freshman in 2014 at Barton County Community College, Plank made 16 appearances and two starts. He went 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA in 30.2 innings pitched.

Plank attended Wichita Heights high school in Wichita, Kan.

Plank is majoring in Accounting and is the son of Brian and Dalene Plank.
