Biography

2015: Redshirted for Emporia State.

2014: Pitched for Ottawa University his freshman season where he pitched in 18 games and threw 42.1 innings. Pitched a two hit, complete game shutout in his first collegiate start.

Newell attended Olathe South High School. In his senior season he went 5-1 in the regular season and had a 2.85 ERA. Newell helped OSHS to a second place finish at the Kansas 6A State Baseball Tournament. He was named Honorable Mention All-Sunflower League and was a Dirt Dandies All-Star in 2013

Majoring in Communication with a Journalism minor.

Newell is the son of David and Krista Newell.
