June 2, 2026 - For the fourth consecutive year, Emporia State baseball had five players earn Academic All-District honors as selected by College Sports Communicators.

Grant Huffman,
Jake Khasaempanth,
Logan Myers and
Brady Unrein were named CSC Academic All-District for their work in the classroom.
Dylan Brisbois posted a 3.60 GPA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and played in 47 games while making 42 starts at catcher for the Hornets. Brisbois finished the season with nine doubles, six home runs, 34 RBI and a .418 on-base percentage while also throwing out 12 runners on the bases.
Grant Huffman recorded a 3.68 GPA in Accounting while also earned First Team All-MIAA honors as a relief pitcher for the Hornets. Huffman made 21 relief appearances while picking up three wins and eight saves out of the bullpen. He finished the season with a 2.10 ERA in 34.1 innings while striking out 25 and allowing just seven walks on the season.
Huffman was also selected as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
Jake Khasaempanth recorded a 3.62 GPA in Business while finished tied for the team-high with 24 appearances on the season. Khasaempanth was used as both a midweek and Sunday starter along with 15 relief appearances in his first year with the Hornets. He finished with a 5.30 ERA in 37.1 innings along with a 3-3 record.
Logan Myers posted a 3.60 GPA in Business and was also a unanimous First Team All-MIAA selection along with a trio of First Team All-Region honors and All-American recognition by both the D2CCA and ABCA. Myers started all 53 games at second base and posted a team-best .408 average while reaching base at a .548 clip. He tallied 21 doubles and drove in 39 runs while scoring a team-high 70 runs from the leadoff spot. Myers also finished the season with no errors and 36 double plays on his way to an MIAA Gold Glove Team selection.
Myers was also selected as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
Brady Unrein recorded a 3.70 GPA in Business and started 51 games for the Hornets at both shortstop and centerfield. Unrein posted a .308 batting average with an OPS north of .900 while tallying 19 extra-base hits, 43 RBI, 36 walks and 12 steals on his way to 56 runs scored.
To be nominated, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. They must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games/contests. For baseball and softball pitchers, it is 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched.
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially supported financially by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the program.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 23.
