Colby Deaver was named the NCBWA Central Region Pitcher of the Year, while four Hornets earn All-Region honors for the 2026 season.
Logan Myers joined Deaver on First Team while
Noah Steele and
Grant Huffman both earned Second Team selections.
Colby Deaver was named the Central Region Pitcher of the Year along with a First Team selection. The sophomore from Blue Springs, Missouri finished the season by ranking top five in the nation in six different pitching categories, including first in WHIP (0.82), second in wins (11), ERA (1.50) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (8.50), third in strikeouts (102), and fourth in walks per nine innings. (1.13). In his last outing of the season, Deaver struck out 16 in a complete game performance against Missouri Southern in the MIAA Tournament. His 16 strikeouts set a career-high and also matched the most in a single-game in Division II this season. He posted ten quality starts, eight outings with eight or more strikeouts and six with no walks allowed. Deaver's 102 strikeouts and 1.50 ERA in the 2026 season are both ninth-best marks in a single season in program history.
Logan Myers was selected First Team All-Central Region at Second Base. Myers posted a .408 batting average, while tallying 21 doubles, 39 RBI, 70 runs and a .548 OBP from the leadoff spot this season. In addition to his ability at the plate, Myers excelled in the field with a 1.000 fielding percentage while being involved in 36 double plays. During the 2026 season, Myers moved into the top ten in program history in several career categories, including hits (195, 6th), runs scored (161, 5th), doubles (42, 6th), and walks (106, 5th).
Noah Steele was named Second Team All-Central Region at First Base. Steele proved been one of the best hitters in the Central Region this season, posting a .388 average and .536 OBP, while tallying career-highs in home runs (16), RBI (67), walks (46), runs scored (60) and steals (11). Steele has tallied 31 home runs for the Hornets over the past two seasons, which ranks fifth in program history.
Grant Huffman was named Second Team All-Central Region as a relief pitcher. Huffman anchored the Hornet bullpen with a 2.10 ERA and 0.96 WHIP along with eight saves in eight opportunities. Huffman's eight saves are tied for seventh-most in the nation and the senior from Lee's Summit, Missouri also holds a 3-0 record, which includes the win in the regular season finale against Northeastern State. Huffman made 21 relief appearance along with and totaled 25 strikeouts while allowing just seven walks in 34.2 innings.
