Forward Preview for Emporia State Soccer

August 17, 2025-Emporia State brings back four forwards with starting experience from last season.
 
Megan Mahloch is the leading returning goal scorer for Emporia State. She had three goals and an assist in 15 matches with ten starts in her freshman season last year.
 
Meghan Kephart scored a goal and had an assist in 17 matches last year with three starts as a freshman.
 
Sade Lee had two assists in her first year with the Hornets after transferring from Pellissippi State CC. She had 13 starts in 17 matches played as a junior last season.
 
Avery Zimmerman scored her first goal against Central Oklahoma as a freshman. She played in all 17 matches with 11 starts last season.
 
The Hornets will begin exhibition play on Sunday, August 17 with a friendly at Butler CC.  Kick-off is set for 7:30 pm in El Dorado, Kan.  The regular season kicks off on Thursday, September 4 at Drury in Springfield, Mo.
 
Forward Notes
There is one senior, no juniors, three sophomores and two freshmen among the forwards.
Five of the six forwards started their careers at Emporia State.
Four forwards are from Kansas, with one from Tennessee and one from England.
