Tyler Schultze Named to D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List

August 11, 2025-Emporia State defensive back Tyler Schultze was named to the D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List.

Schultze was a Third-Team All-MIAA selection at defensive back last season. The junior from DeSoto, Kan. led the MIAA in interceptions with five and was 11th in the nation in the category.  He finished second in the MIAA and sixth in the nation in passes defended.  His five interceptions rank eighth on the Emporia State single season list. He was also a First-Team Academic All-American with a 3.98 GPA in physics.

The Hornets open the 2025 season on Thursday, August 28 against Minot State.  Kick-off from Jones Field at Welch Stadium is set for 7:05 p.m.  As part of the ESU Year of Celebration, General Admission to all regular-season ESU home athletic events is free for the 2025–26 academic year.
