Emporia State Track & Field Teams Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

Hornet men have top GPA in MIAA, women rank third in conference

July 21, 2025-Both Emporia State's men's and women's track and field teams earned United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association Team Academic honors, while a total of 22 Hornets were named USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees.
 
The Hornet men had a 3.35 team GPA to lead the MIAA and ranked 30th across NCAA Division II.  A total of 17 Hornets were named All-Academic including Ty Anderson, Israel Domeh, Emmanuel Dukpe, Braden Lipgens, Jonah Remsberg and Bryson Turner who also earned USTFCCCA All-American status at the 2025 Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The 17 individuals were the most by an MIAA men's team.
 
The Emporia State women posted a 3.63 team GPA to rank 16th in the nation and third in the MIAA. All-American and MIAA Champion Abigael Reid Harelson leads five Hornet women who were named USTFCCCA All-Academic.
 
To be named to the All-Academic team, an individual must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 at their current institution and finished the season ranked in the top 50 in an individual event or be on a top 35 relay on the national descending order lists on TFRRS.
 
Of the 22 Hornets that earned All-Academic honors, 20 are eligible to return for next season. Emporia State's Welch Stadium and Zola Witten Track will play host to the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 21-23.
