13 From Hornet Baseball Earn MIAA Academic Honors

June 5, 2025 – Hornet Baseball had 13 players named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for the 2025 season. TJ Racherbaumer and Cade Barton were named MIAA Scholar-Athletes and Ryan Sauter earned the Academic Excellence award.
 
The list of 13 players was highlighted by Cade Barton and TJ Racherbaumer who earned MIAA Scholar-Athlete recognition for success on and off the field. Barton posted a 3.82 GPA in Biology and earned MIAA Honorable Mention recognition, while Racherbaumer had a 3.83 GPA in Sports Leadership while being named First Team All-MIAA. Ryan Sauter also earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award for the fourth consecutive spring, as he posted a 4.0 in Mathematics.
 
Barton, Racherbaumer and Sauter were joined on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll by Dylan Brisbois, Konner Hatfield, Grant Huffman, Logan Myers, Sammy Padilla, Matthew Postier, Kenny Schirmer, Seth Stover, Jovanni Toledo, and Trent Warstler.
 
To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
 
To qualify as a Scholar-Athlete an individual must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.50 at the certifying member institution. The student-athlete must have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms and earn All-MIAA honors from the 2024 season.
 
A MIAA Academic Excellence Award recipient must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 4.00 or better at the certifying member institution. The honoree also must have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
 
True freshmen and transfer students that had not completed two terms of attendance at Emporia State will be recognized later this month.
