May 6, 2025 – Emporia State baseball had six players earn All-MIAA recognition, headlined by TJ Racherbaumer being selected to the first team at catcher.

In addition to Racherbaumer, Noah Steele was named second team, Logan Myers and Peyton were named to the third team, and Cade Barton and Brady Unrein earned honorable mention recognition.

TJ Racherbaumer was named First Team All-MIAA at catcher after posting a .311 batting average and 1.016 OPS, with nine home runs, ten doubles, 32 RBI and 31 walks. His 31 walks mark the third consecutive season with more than 30 walks drawn. Racherbaumer's career total of 192 games played, 662 at-bats, 144 runs scored, 199 hits, 40 doubles, 28 home runs and 122 walks all rank inside the top ten in program history.

Noah Steele was named Second Team All-MIAA in the outfield after hitting .368 with 15 home runs, 53 RBI and a 1.149 OPS. Steele's 15 home runs are the most by a Hornet since the 2016 season and is tied for ninth in a single season in program history. He ranks fifth in home runs, seventh in OPS, eighth in slugging and tenth in OBP in the MIAA this season.

Logan Myers earned Third Team All-MIAA honors at second base after earning Co-Freshman of the Year recognition last season. Myers has a .328 batting average, with 61 hits, six home runs, 16 doubles and 40 RBI. His 16 doubles rank seventh in the MIAA this season. He has 18 multi-hit games this season, including seven with three or more hits, and enters the MIAA Tournament with a 15-game hitting streak.

Peyton Lewis was named Third Team All-MIAA at designated hitter in his lone season at Emporia State. Lewis has a .341 average with 58 hits, 22 extra-base hits, 31 RBI, .392 OBP and 12 stolen bases. He has a team-high 19 multi-hit games, including two stretches during the season with multiple hits in five or more consecutive games.

Cade Barton earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA at starting pitcher, his second consecutive season earning All-MIAA honors. Barton had a 5-3 record and 4.80 ERA in 60.0 innings pitched across 13 appearances and 12 starts. He held a team-best 1.10 WHIP and while striking out 39 batters, Barton allowed just two walks, which led the MIAA. Barton's two walks and 19.50 strikeout-to-walk ratio both lead the nation and are the best marks in all divisions.

Brady Unrein earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA honors at shortstop in his freshman season with the Hornets. Unrein hit .294 with eight home runs, seven doubles, 27 RBI, 18 walks and a .395 OBP. His eight home runs are the most by a Hornet freshman since TJ Racherbaumer had ten in 2022. Unrein also made an impact defensively, committing just one error in 144 chances for a .993 fielding percentage.

Emporia State earned the ninth seed in the MIAA Tournament and will take on the hosts Missouri Southern in the first round on Wednesday, May 7 in Joplin, Mo. First pitch between the Hornets and Lions is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
