Three from Hornet Soccer Named to All-MIAA Second Team

Bachman, Favot and Kephart highlight eight Hornets to earn All-MIAA recognition

November 7, 2025 – Emporia State soccer had eight players earn All-MIAA recognition, highlighted by Abby Bachman, Ella Favot and Megan Kephart who all earned second team honors.
 
Abby Bachman was named Second Team All-MIAA at defender, marking the fourth All-MIAA honor she has received in her Hornet career. Bachman started all 12 conference matches and helped the Hornet backline compile six shutouts. On the season, she has played in all 18 matches and started 17, pushing her career totals to 81 matches played and 79 starts. Her 81 matches played ranks sixth in program history, and her 79 starts is fifth.
 
Ella Favot was named Second Team All-MIAA in the midfield following a strong freshman campaign for the Hornets. Favot had five goals and three assists in MIAA action, with a sixth goal scored in non-conference play against CSU-Pueblo. Her 13 points in conference play were tied for the third-most in the MIAA. She tallied 34 shots and 19 shots on goal on the season. Favot also had two-game winning goals, including the game-winner in the MIAA opener against Newman where she scored twice.
 
Megan Kephart earned Second Team All-MIAA recognition at forward, as she tallied 16 points on the season. Kephart had five goals and six assists, with 14 of her 16 points coming in MIAA action. In the MIAA opener against Newman, she contributed to all three goals with one goal and two assists. Kephart also recorded her first career brace, notching two goals against Rogers State. On the season, she tallied 44 shots and 24 attempts on goal, while also scoring a game-winning goal in a 5-1 win over Nebraska-Kearney.
 
Mackenzi Goen was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA in goal, after tallying six shutouts and 67 saves. Goen also has career-best marks in goals against average at 1.00 and save percentage at .807. Her six shutouts this season is tied for the fourth-best mark in ESU history. In her career, Goen has 256 saves in 69 career matches, while posting 15 shutouts which is the third-best mark in program history.
 
Peyton Pipes earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA honors in her first season at Emporia State. Pipes started 11 of 12 conference matches and 17 of 18 matches on the season. She helped the Hornet defense to six conference shutouts and seven on the season and had a goal in a 5-1 win over Nebraska-Kearney. On the season, she scored three goals with goals in 3-1 wins over UMary and Northern State.
 
Ruby Ryan earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA recognition in her sophomore campaign after starting all 12 conference matches and anchoring the defense to six shutouts. She tallied the first assist of her career against Missouri Southern, which also proved to be the game-winning goal for the Hornets.
 
Madeline Bracy was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA in the midfield after becoming a steady presence for the Hornets as a defensive midfielder. Bracy tallied an assist against Rogers State, while scoring two goals in non-conference action against UMary and Regis. She started all 12 conference matches and played all 90 minutes in six MIAA meetings.
 
Sammy Quiroz earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA recognition in the midfield in her freshman season with the Hornets. Quiroz has played in all 18 matches and started nine of 12 matches in MIAA action. She tallied one goal and two assists in MIAA action, with her goal coming in a 5-2 win over Fort Hays State.
 
The Hornets are set to take on Washburn in the second edition of the Turnpike Tussle on Sunday, November 9 which also doubles as the MIAA Quarterfinals. The match between the Hornets and Ichabods is set for 1:00 p.m. in Topeka, Kan.
