ABOUT THE HORNETS
Emporia State is in their first season under head coach Brad Hill and the Hornets are 10-8 on the season and 3-3 in the MIAA.On the mound, nine pitchers have made multiple appearances with Cade Barton and Ian Lanik each having five starts and over 25 innings pitched. Lanik has 29 strikeouts while Barton has 26 of his own. At the plate, six different Hornets have recorded ten or more RBI with Patryk Hernandez and Kadyn Williams leading the way with 18 each. Williams has a team-high .400 average, .506 on-base percentage and 11 extra-base hits. Hernandez has a .343 average with four home runs and four doubles. Logan Myers ahs a .349 average in his freshman season with three home runs, 14 RBI and a .491 on-base percentage. TJ Racherbaumer is batting .295 with 13 RBI and three home runs.
SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS
Upper Iowa is 3-1 on the season as they took three of four games against Wisconsin-Parkside last week, outscoring the Rangers 34-28. The Peacocks had multiple hitters above .300 through their first four games with Gunnar Wicklund and Mike Gentile Jr. batting .500 and .400 respectively. Jared Hoodjer and Gabe Bombardier each have a team-high two home runs and five RBI. On the mound, Isaiah Maes has pitched a team-high seven innings in his one start as he has a 3.86 ERA and is 1-0 with a team-high five strikeouts.Â

Emporia State leads the all-time series 3-1 with the last meeting between the Hornets and Peacocks coming on March 12, 2007 in a season where the Hornets went 41-24 and made the NCAA Tournament.Â
