November 20, 2024 - Emporia State volleyball had four players earn All-MIAA recognition, with
Rayishon Jackman earning MIAA Freshman of the Year and
Weronika Wrzesinska being named to the first team.
Rayishon Jackman was named the MIAA Freshman of the Year and also earned Second Team All-MIAA honors for her first season with the Hornets. Jackman has 323 kills this season, averaging 3.23 across her 100 sets played. Her 3.23 average ranks sixth in the MIAA. Jackman has tallied double-digit kills in 19 matches this season, including more than 20 on three occasions. In addition to her ability in attack, Jackman has also been pivotal in defense for the Hornets. She has a team-high 384 digs for a 3.84 digs per set mark which ranks 11th in the MIAA. She has reached double figures in digs in 20 matches this season, helping her tally 15 double-doubles. Her season-high in both kills and digs came in the same match, as she tallied 25 kills and 28 digs in four sets against Illinois-Springfield.
Weronika Wrzesinska was unanimously named First Team All-MIAA as she recorded a team-high 363 kills while also hitting .245 on the season. Wrzesinska's average of 3.63 kills per set leads both the Hornets and the MIAA this season. She reached double figures in kills 19 times on the season, and tallied 20 or more kills five times, including her career-high 29 kills in a three-set win over Pittsburg State. Her mark of 29 kills is the most in the nation this season in a three-set match. Wrzesinska has also been a major contributor to the Hornet defense, totaling 303 digs on the season which ranks 17th in the MIAA, while also recording four solo blocks and 50 block assists.
Brailee Bogle was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA at setter as she has 990 assists this season, averaging just under ten per set. Bogle surpassed 50 assists in a match four times this season, including her career-high of 57 assists in a five-set road win against Fort Hays State. Her four-set career high was also set this season, tallying 53 assists in the home match against the Tigers. Bogle also ranked fourth on the Hornets with 247 digs and had a solo block with 32 block assists.
Camilla Ossola also earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA at outside hitter/right side for the Hornets. Ossola ranked third on the Hornets with 235 kills, averaging 2.97 kills per set, the 15th best mark in the MIAA. Her team-high .253 hitting percentage also ranked inside the top 20 in the conference. Ossola finished with double-digit kills 12 times on the season, including a career-high 21 in a five-set win over Northwest Missouri.
