November 30, 2023-Emporia State's Tyler Kahmann and Ross Brungardt have been named All-Super Region-3 by the D2CCA on Thursday.  Kahmann earned First-Team honors while Brungardt was named to the Second-Team.

Kahmann is leading the nation in touchdown catches with an Emporia State record 18 this season. He is ranked fourth in the nation in receptions, sixth in scoring, and seventh in receiving yards, points scored and total touchdowns. He was a First-Team All-MIAA selection at receiver for the Hornets. He has 90 catches for 1,116 yards on the season. He has had at least 100 yards receiving in six of his last seven games and has caught a touchdown pass in seven straight games.  In his career he has 171 receptions for 2,080 yards and 32 touchdowns.  His 32 touchdown catches rank second on the Emporia State career list.

Brungardt was the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Year and a unanimous First-Team All-MIAA selection at punter for Emporia State. He led the MIAA and was ranked eighth in the nation in average per punt this season while the Hornets ranked seventh nationally in net punting. He had 17 punts of at least 50 yards this season and 17 punts inside the opponents 20 yard line.

The NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association sponsors the All-Region teams. Athletic communication professionals from NCAA Division II Super Region 3 schools and conferences selected the D2CCA all-region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in December.

The Hornets have accepted a bid to the FunTown RV Heritage Bowl in Corsicana, Texas. Emporia State will take on Southern Nazarene on Saturday, December 2. It is the third straight year the Hornets have earned an extra game and the eighth time in the last 11 seasons Emporia State has played into the post season.
