TOP TEN TEAM FINISH FOR EMPORIA STATE MEN AT SOUTHERN STAMPEDE

September 17, 2022-The Emporia State men finished tenth out of 20 scoring teams at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo. on Saturday.  The Hornet women placed 21^st out of 25 teams.
 
Tyler Swift was the top finisher for the Emporia State men as he finished 49^th with a time of 25:58.12. Henry Jones came in just behind Swift with a 54^th place finish and a time of 26:02.30. Luke Gleason finished 61^st with a time of 26:08.66. Cody Achilles and Jaime Diaz rounded out the top five finishes for the Hornets. Achilles was 69^th with a time of 26:18.70 and Diaz finished 79^th out of 261 finishers with a time of 26:29.90.
 
Tayler Williams was the top finisher for the Hornet women as she placed 46^th with a time of 18:20.23. Ayden Kearney was the second finisher for Emporia State with a time of 19:22.27 and a 105^th place finish. Mason Bina and Catherine Lyon finished third and fourth for the Hornets. Bina placed 152^nd running 19:58.79 while Lyon ran 20:11.61 to place 161^st out of 251 finishers.
 
Emporia State will be back in action next Friday when they play host to the ESU Invitational. Races will start at 5:15 p.m. at the Trusler Sports Complex.
