October 15, 2021-The #3 Emporia State soccer team saw their 16 match unbeaten string come to an end with a 2-1 loss at Central Oklahoma on Friday night in Edmond, Okla.

The Hornets scored right out of the gate with
Mackenzie Dimarco taking a pass from
Liz Palmer and booting it in from just outside the box just 87 seconds into the match.

The Bronchos got the equalizer 12 minutes later when Kylee Wickersham knocked a goal in from 30 yards out that Hornet keeper
Jillian Patton was able to knock down but could not get control of before it rolled over the line. UCO took the lead less than a minute later when Monika McGee scored on a penalty kick.Â

That would be all the scoring in the match as neither team could find the net in the final 75 minutes. For the match Emporia State would outshoot Central Oklahoma 18-10 with a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal.Â

Emporia State will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to Newman. Kick-off in Wichita, Kan. is set for 1:00 p.m.
