LAST ROAD TRIP
The Hornets take their last regular season road trip to Missouri Southern on Friday and #5 Central Missouri on Sunday. The match in Warrensburg on Sunday has huge MIAA and NCAA Tournament implications.

THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 71-71-23 in his ninth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He has a career record of 130-94-25 that includes coaching four years at the community college level. He has led the Hornets to five straight .500 or better regular seasons, three straight MIAA Tournaments and their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.  He is 4-2-2 against Missouri Southern and 1-8-1 against Central Missouri.
Aaron Tilsen is 2-11-1 in his first year at Missouri Southern. This is his first meeting with Emporia State.
Lewis Theobold is 228-33-10 in his 13th season at Central Missouri. He is 18-1-1 against Emporia State.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 9-3-2, 4-1-2 in the MIAA and ranked sixth in the United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll. Mackenzie Dimarco is ranked third in the nation in game winning goals and seventh in total goals.  With four regular season matches left, her 14 goals rank second on the Hornets single season list. Gabby Crowell has three goals and two assists while Hannah Woolery has two goals and five assists.  Tanna Benefiel, Kennedy Hoffman, Daniela Cardona and Aislinn Hughes each have two goals. Defensively Emporia State has given up one or fewer goals in ten of their 14 matches on the year and have allowed fewer than ten shots in six matches. They have five shutouts on the year with Jillian Patton recording four of them while combining with Tori Bailey on the third.

SCOUTING MISSOURI SOUTHERN
The Lions are 2-11-1, 1-5-1 in the MIAA. They have given up a league high 39 goals in 14 matches. They are scoring an average of 2.75 goals per match in four home MIAA contests.

SERIES HISTORY
The Lions lead the all-time series 16-6-1 but the Hornets have won three straight and are 4-1-2 in the last seven meetings.

LAST TIME VS. THE LIONS
Emporia State trailed 1-0 at the half but Makayla Brady evened the match in the 74th minute and Rachel Marshall got the game winner with 1:13 remaining for a 2-1 win over Missouri Southern.

SCOUTING CENTRAL MISSOURI
The Jennies are 11-1-1, 5-0-1 in the MIAA and ranked #5 in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll. They are the top defensive team in the MIAA, having allowed just two goals while scoring 14 in six conference matches. Makayla Toth is the leading scorer in the conference overall with 13 goals and six assists in 13 matches.

SERIES HISTORY
Central Missouri leads the all-time series 24-4-2. Emporia State won last year's regular season match in Emporia 3-1 before falling in the MIAA Tournament.

LAST TIME VS. THE JENNIES
Making just their second trip to the MIAA Tournament Semifinals, Emporia State fell 7-1 to defending national champion Central Missouri in Edmond, Okla. The Hornets trailed 5-0 at the half before Makayla Brady scored in the 67th minute.  The seven goals surrendered match the most given up in a match in ESU history.

UP NEXT
The Hornets return to the ESU Pitch for the final two regular season matches. Emporia State takes on Washburn on Friday, Nov. 1 before a Senior Day match against Neb.-Kearney on Sunday, Nov. 3.
