SEASON FINALE
Emporia State travels to St. Charles, Mo. to take on Lindenwood in the final weekend series of the 2018 season.

LAST AT BAT
Emporia State swept Northeastern State in a weekend series (8-1, 8-1, 5-2).
Emporia State took game one 8-1 over Northeastern State. The Hornets took advantage of four RiverHawks errors for the win. The Hornets had six hits on the night led by Mack Gowing with two hits and one RBI. Seth Holman started on the mound for the Hornets and pitched the complete 9.0 innings allowing just one run on six hits with 11 K's in the game.
In game two the Hornets used 13 hits led by Mack Gowing and Kaden Shaffer each with three hits to take down the RiverHawks. Tanner Cairns started on the mound and pitched the complete 9.0 innings for the Hornets allowing just one run on eight hits with eight K's.
The Hornets completed the sweep with a 5-2 win over the RiverHawks on Senior Day. The Hornets had ten hits and took advantage of one RiverHawks error in the game.

THE COACHES
Bob Fornelli is 592-262 in his 15th season at Emporia State and is 892-373 overall in his 22nd year as a four year head coach. He has led Emporia State to two Division II World Series appearances in ten NCAA Tournaments. Fornelli is 10-6 against the Lions.
Doug Bletcher is 347-240-1 in his 11th year as head coach for the Lions.

The Hornets have a team batting average of .292 while allowing opponents an average of .297. The Hornets have had 1582 at bats with 462 hits for 332 runs on the season. Hornet pitchers have combined for 360 K's this season.
