TOURNEY TIME
Emporia State continues in the MIAA Tournament to face the fourth seeded Pittsburg State for the second time on day four. With a win the Hornets will continue to the winner take all championship game at 12:30 p.m.

LAST AT BAT
Emporia State won 4-0 over Pittsburg State on Saturday.
The Hornets got on the board early with one run in the bottom of the first and never gave up the lead. The Hornets extended their lead in the third inning with three runs on three hits and held the 4-0 lead for the remainder of the game. The Hornets out-hit the Gorillas 7-6 with no errors in the game. Hornet pitchers joined forces to complete a combined shutout in the win.

THE COACHES
Bob Fornelli is 597-263 in his 15th season at Emporia State and is 903-376 overall in his 22nd year as a four year head coach. He has led Emporia State to two Division II World Series appearances in ten NCAA Tournaments. Fornelli is 83-37 against the Gorillas and 26-49 against the Mules.
Tom Myers is 53-45 in his second year as head coach for the Gorillas.
Kyle Crookes is 141-70 in his fourth year as head coach for the Mules.

Bryce Fischer leads the Hornets with a .397 batting average, 79 hits and 59 runs. Mack Gowing has a batting avg. of .327 with 68 hits and 53 runs. Mason Brown, Brian Grove, Trevor Turner, Brandon Bachar, Tate Kastens, Tanner Arst and Kaden Shaffer each have double digit hits and runs for the Hornets.

Seth Holman has 115 K's with an ERA of 3.48 through 106.0 innings with a record of 7-3. Taylor Thompson has 23 appearances, 54.0 innings, 33 K's and a 4.50 ERA. Max Simpson is 4-5 in 15 appearences, 62.1 innings with 54 K's.
