March 30, 2018-Emporia State Baseball coach Bob Fornelli announced the construction of a new weight room for the Hornet Baseball team. 

The construction will be an addition to the existing indoor facility currently located at Trusler Sports Complex.  With the science of sport specific training evolving over the years, the addition of the weight room will ensure the Hornet Baseball program will have the best opportunity to continue competing at the highest level possible.

In addition to the new weight room, there will be a "Legacy Wall" telling the story of the past teams and players that have gone through the Emporia State University baseball program.  From Championship teams to All-Americans and professional players, ESU has a tradition like very few, and that visual story needs to be told.

Construction on the project is slated to begin in late spring and is being provided by NCRI Construction Services.
