HOMECOMING
After a weekend in Oklahoma, Emporia State returns to the ESU Pitch to host their final home matches of the season. On Friday, the Hornets host Lindenwood at 3:00 pm. On Saturday, the Hornets host Central Missouri at 2:00 pm for senior day to wrap up homecoming weekend.
THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 57-66-21 in his eighth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He has a career record of 116-89-23 that includes coaching four years at the community college level.
Dave Musso is in his 1st season as the head coach of the women's soccer team at Lindenwood.
Lewis Theobald is in his 12th season as the head coach of the women's soccer team at Central Missouri.
LAST TIME OUT
On Friday, the Hornets fell 2-1 to #11 Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla. The Hornets scored just the third goal of the season against the undefeated Bronchos. McKayla Brady led the Hornets with two shots taken and one goal scored. Maria Walden had the lone assist in the match for the Hornets. In goal, Jillian Patton recorded 11 saves as she faced 21 shots in the match.
On Sunday, the Hornets fell 1-0 to Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla. This was the Hornets first loss on a Sunday and their first shut-out loss this season. The Hornets were out-shot 10-9 in the match despite taking 5-3 shots on goal. There were 22 fouls recorded in the match. Shelby Keyes and Rachel Marshall led the Hornets in shots taken with two each while five other Hornets took one shot each. Jillian Patton played the full 90 minutes in goal with two saves.
