HEADED NORTH
Emporia State will travel north to Minot, North Dakota for their second weekend of action at the Minot State Classic. After opening the season with two wins, the Hornets look to continue their streak against Minot State on Friday September 8 and Augustana on Sunday September 10.
THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 42-53-18 beginning his seventh year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He has a career record of 101-76-20 that includes coaching four years at the community college level.
Jason Spain is in his eighth season as head coach for the Minot State women's soccer program.
Brandon Barkus is in his 12th season as head coach for the Augustana women's soccer program.
LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State gave up their first goal of the season in the first half, but answered quickly in a 2-1 win over Ouachita Baptist in their final match at the MIAA-GAC Challenge in St. Joseph, Mo. Shelby Keyes and Kennedy Hoffman each scored goals for the Hornets in the victory.
ABOUT THE HORNETS
Emporia State opened the season at the MIAA/GAC Challenge, finishing the weekend 2-0. The Hornets have outshot their opponents 30-16 so far this season and have three players with one goal each. Sammy Boese scored a goal against Harding. Kennedy Hoffman and Shelby Keyes each scored against Ouachita Baptist. Keeper Bethany Reeves scored a shutout against Harding in the season opener.
ABOUT MINOT STATE
Minot State finished last season with a record of 16-3-1, 14-0-1 in the NSIC. The Beavers are 1-1-0 on the season and have five players with at least one goal. Sofia Lewis and Jordyn Cook lead the team with two goals each while Meagen Kawahara, Haley Berryman and Morgan Myers each have one.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first meeting between Emporia State and Minot State.
ABOUT AUGUSTANA
Augustana finished last season with an overall recrod of 13-5-3, 10-2-3 in the NSIC. The Vikings opened their season 0-1-1. Although being outscored 6-1 in their two games, the Vikings have outshot their opponents 38-37. The Vikings are led by Samantha Tymkowicz with their lone goal for the season coming on an assist from Claire Dahm.

This will be the fourth meeting between Emporia State and Augustana. The Hornets lead the series 3-0.
LAST TIME AGAINST AUGUSTANA
The last meeting between Emporia State and Augustana came September 5, 2012. The Hornets won the match 2-1 despite being outshot by the Vikings 14-11. The Hornets Sarah Crawford and Mindi Lozenski each scored goals in the victory.
