October 30, 2026 - The MIAA released their 2026 Women's Soccer All-MIAA Teams and Postseason Awards, and Ella Favot was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Year.
Ella Favot ended the season with eight goals six assists, as her 22 points were tied for the most in the MIAA this season, while also tying with Megan Kephart for most shots on goal in the association. Favot had two multi-goal matches, including a career-high five-point performance against CSU-Pueblo. She also tallied a career-high three assists in a win over Oklahoma Baptist. Favot becomes just the second Hornet to win the award (Mackenzie Dimarco 2019, 2023) and she marks the fifth time a Hornet was named one of the major award winners.
Megan Kephart was also named to the All-MIAA First Team after scoring a career-high nine goals on the season while adding an assist. Her nine goals and 19 points are both new career-highs and she tied Favot with 29 shots on goal, the most in the MIAA this season. Kephart scored her first career hat-trick over Oklahoma Baptist and picked up another multi-goal performance in the regular season finale against Rogers State.
Peyton Pipes earned All-MIAA Third Team on defense after scoring four goals and helping the Hornets to four shutouts on the season. Pipes converted twice from the penalty spot this season, with her second coming in her first career multi-goal performance in a win over Missouri Southern.
Terra Rybuck was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA at goalkeeper for the Hornets. Rybuck finished the regular season with 62 saves and a .775 save percentage which included two shutouts. Her most prolific performance of the season came on the road against #4 Pittsburg State, as she made a career-high ten saves while facing 19 shots to help the Hornets to a 0-0 draw despite being down to 10 players over the final 12 minutes.
Sammy Quiroz earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA for the second consecutive season as she played in all 18 matches and totaled the third-most minutes for Emporia State this season. Quiroz recorded three assists on the season, with a career-high two coming against Maryville in the second match of the season before adding a third in the regular season finale.
Avery Zimmerman also earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA, as she finished the regular season with three goals and three assists. Zimmerman record an assist in the season opener and the regular season finale while adding another in a win over Missouri Southern. Zimmerman's three goals came across three straight matches in September in wins over Oklahoma Baptist, Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State, with her goal against the Tigers proving to be the game-winner.
The Hornets are set to take on Central Oklahoma in the MIAA Quarterfinals on Sunday, November 1 in Edmond, Oklahoma. The match between the Hornets and Bronchos is set for 1:00 p.m.
