March 5, 2016 - The #30 Hornets defeated Lincoln - Mo. 17-2 Saturday afternoon at Glennen Field. Emporia State improved to 12-3, 5-0 in MIAA.
LINCOLN SCORES
The Blue Tigers started the game hot, scoring a run off one hit in the top of the first to lead 1-0. The Hornets took the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the first to lead the rest of the game. Emporia State had five runs in the second inning and nine runs in the fourth inning.
BY THE NUMBERS
Wade Hanna went four for five with a two run home run. Hanna had four RBI and two runs scored to lead the Hornets. Levi Ashmore went three for four with three RBI and three runs scored. Daniel LaMunyon hit three for five with two RBI and three runs scored. Evan Koehler went two for three with three runs scored. Tucker Perkins went two for four at the plate. The Hornets had a .500 batting average on the day. Matt Slauter had five strike outs through four innings allowing only two hits and one run.
