Biography

2018: As a junior, Cairns threw a total of 88.0 innings in 15 appearances with all 15 being starts. He had a record of 9-1 with an ERA of 4.04 and had an opposing batting average of .279 to earn All-MIAA third team honors.

At the close of 2017, Cairns had seen 86.2 innings in 16 appearances with 13 starts. He was 8-1 on the season with a 3.43 ERA and a .258 opponent batting average. He also had one save on the year. He was 3rd team All-MIAA.
 
As a freshman in 2016, Cairns had 13 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched. He was the starting pitcher that picked up the win at Tarleton State.

At Wichita Independent High School, Cairns was a two-time All-Conference pitcher, named an All-State pitcher and received 3A Pitcher of the Year. He led his team to three conference championships, two regional championships and a third-place finish at the state tournament in his senior season.

Cairns is majoring in Accounting and is the son of Tami and Richard Cairns.
