MIAA HOME STANDEmporia State is set to have their MIAA home opener this weekend as they face off against Northeastern State on Friday at the Emporia HS Pitch. Emporia State will then face Central Oklahoma on Sunday on the ESU Pitch.

LAST TIME OUTEmporia State got back to its winning ways with a 3-1 victory at Lindenwood on Sunday afternoon. McKenzie Koch scored a pair of goal for the Hornets off direct kicks. She gave Emporia State the lead with her first goal with 9:37 left in the first half and then wrapped up the scoring on another direct kick with just 18 seconds left in the match. Amelie Heun scored what proved to be the game winner with 12:43 left in the match to give the Hornets a 2-0 lead.

THE COACHESBryan Sailer is 28-39-15 in his fifth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He is 10-10-5 over his last 25 matches dating back to last year. He is 2-3-0Â against Northeastern State and 0-1-2 against Central Oklahoma.
Chase Wooten is currently in his sixth season as head coach of the Northeastern State and has a career record of 61-31-9.
Cook came to Central Oklahoma when the school started the program in 1998 and has led the Bronchos to a 253-90-24 record.

The Hornets have attempted 117 goals to their opponents 97 and have outscored opponents 14-13 this year. Amelie Heun leads the MIAA in goals, points and game winning goals. She is sixth in the nation in game winning goals and ranks 11th in total goals scored this season. She is tied for third on the Emporia State single season goals scored list. Grace Linton and McKenzie Koch each have three goals, while Jaide Allenbrand has two goals and Jacki Martinek has scored once. Goal keeper Yadira Rivera has played all 720 minutes between the pipes and has 40 saves and three shut outs on the season.

SCOUTING THE RIVERHAWKSNortheastern State is 7-1-0 on the season. The RiverHawks have outscored their opponents 29-3 on the season. The RiverHawks have 12 different scorers on the season. Anastasia Robinson is the leading scorer with six goals, Jennifer Cudjoe has five goals, Morgan Kent and Melissa Giles each with three goals. The RiverHawks have six other players with at least one goal each.
