Jason Tetuan leads group with little starting experience

August 13, 2015-Monday began a six part series of position breakdowns for the Hornet football team. The linebackers were featured on Thursday with the defensive line set for Thursday.
LINEBACKERS
Jason Tetuan is the leading returning tackler for Emporia State after earning honorable mention All-MIAA honors last season. He had 73 tackles last season, reaching double digits against both Central Missouri and Missouri Western. Josh Monteagudo will be playing more of a linebacker position this year after seeing most of his action at safety over the last two years. Remington Whitley is next leading returning tackler among linebackers for the Hornets with 15 last season.

Emporia State will return five All-MIAA players this fall in addition to 2013 second-team All-MIAA quarterback Brent Wilson who was injured and missed the final seven games of the year. The Hornets are 23-11 over the last three seasons.

The Hornets will open the season on Thursday, September 3 against Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo. with the home opener set for a week later against Central Missouri on Thursday, September 10 on Jones Field at Welch Stadium.
