March 30, 2015-The Emporia State baseball team will take on #26 Missouri Southern in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon on Glennen Field at the Trusler Sports Complex. The Hornets have won seven of their last eight games while the Lions have won six of the last eight.
The matchup will feature the top hitting team in the MIAA against the top pitching team. The Hornets are leading the league with a .345 batting average, a .546 slugging percentage and a league best 62 stolen bases. The Lions lead the MIAA with a 3.70 ERA and 232 strikeouts.
Individually Justin Harris is leading the MIAA in batting average at .475, on base percentage at .546, doubles with 14 and stolen bases with 20 in 25 attempts. Dean Long is leading the MIAA in slugging percentage at .856 and is second with 39 RBI and 11 home runs.
First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. from Glennen Field at the Trusler Sports Complex.
