EMPORIA STATE BASEBALL SPLITS DOUBLE HEADER WITH WASHBURN

Box Score 1 March 14, 2015- Emporia State Baseball and Washburn split a double header on Saturday.

The Ichabods won game one 6-1. Washburn did most of the damage early, leading the game 5-1 after the second inning. Tory Bell scored the lone run for the Hornets in the 2 inning, on a Cody Bobbitt RBI.

Shawn Talkington got the lose for Emporia State and he is now 2-2 on the season. Talkington went 5.0 innings, allowed six earned runs and recorded five K's. Kyle Hefferan, now 3-0, got the win for the Ichabods. Hefferan went  7.0 innings giving up seven hits and allowing one earned run.

Emporia State came back strong in the second game of the double header, winning 14-6. Dean Long and Dan Lorenzen each had three RBI's in the game, Including a homerun by Lorenzen. Wade Hanna and Levi Parker each had two RBI's. 

Travis Hendry earned the win for the Hornets. Hendry went 5.2 innings, gave up six earned runs on five hits, with three walks and six K's. Zach Linquist got the lose for the Ichabods, he went 3.0 innings and gave up seven earned runs on eight hits.

The Hornets are back in action Sunday March 15, 2015 went they take on Washburn in a single game starting at 1 PM at Glennen Field.
