May 2, 2014-The Emporia State baseball team fell to Washburn by a score of 10-4 in game two of the best of three MIAA Opening Round Series. The series is tied at a game apiece, setting up a winner take all game on Saturday to advance to the MIAA Tournament final four in Springfield, Mo. next weekend.

Washburn took the lead with three runs in the third inning. Emporia State did manage to tie the game at 3 in the fifth but WU added three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings along with a solo run in the eighth for the final margin.

Levi Parker was one for three with two RBI on a single and a sac fly.  Wade Hanna reached base twice and scored both times.  Jarrod Miller took the loss giving up five runs, three earned, on five hits with eight strikeouts in 5.0 innings.

First pitch of the deciding game is set for 3:00 p.m. on May 3, 2014 at Glennen Field in the Trusler Sports Complex.
