March 20, 2014-The Emporia State baseball team nears the end of a ten game home stand this weekend with a four game series against Neb.-Kearney at the Trusler Sports Complex.

The Hornets are 14-7 on the season, 10-6 in the MIAA and have won nine of their last 12 games. They have won their last two series played, taking three of four from both Missouri Southern and Missouri Western.  Justin Harris is batting .353 with 18 RBI, 20 runs scored and an MIAA leading 16 stolen bases.  Shawn Talkington is 3-1 with a 2.37 ERA in an MIAA high two complete games.  He has 26 strikeouts and just five walks in 30.1 innings pitched.

The Lopers are 15-8 on the season, 9-7 in the MIAA.  They split a four game series with Central Missouri last weekend in Kearney, Neb. winning the last two games 20-3 and 8-2.

The series is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. with a single nine inning game at Glennen Field in the Trusler Sports Complex.  Saturday will have a pair of seven inning games starting at 1:00 p.m. with the series ending on Sunday with a nine inning game at 12 noon.
