December 10, 2014-After an oustanding senior season, Emporia State wide receiver Austin Willis earned Third-Team Don Hansen All-Super Region 3 honors.

Despite playing with three different starting quarterbacks due to injuries, Willis finished the year with 56 catches for 757 yards and six touchdowns. He was fifth in MIAA in receiving yards and receptions, fourth in touchdown catches, and tenth with 967 all-purpose yards during the regular season. His 178 yards against Central Missouri was fifth best single game in the MIAA this year and his three 100 yard receiving games this year ranks third in conference. He finished career with 2,005 receiving yards on 128 catches for a 15.7 yards per catch average.  He is also an Academic All-District performer with 3.58 GPA in health promotions.

The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.  Don Hansen's Football Gazette began selecting Division II All-Region squads in 2003.

Emporia State went 4-7 this year and will return five All-MIAA players in addition to 2013 second-team All-MIAA quarterback Brent Wilson who was injured and missed the final seven games of the year. The Hornets are 23-11 over the last three seasons.
