March 18, 2013-The Emporia State baseball team will play host to Pittsburg State in a twilight double header this afternoon and evening at the Trusler Sports Complex.  First pitch from Glennen Field is set for 3 p.m.

The Hornets are 10-12 on the year and 8-9 in the MIAA.  They have won six of their last eight games.  Todd Schultz is batting a team best .400 in 18 games with three home runs and 16 RBI.  Jordan Slade and Aaron Rea are the only two Hornets that have played and started in every game this season.  Slade is batting .324 with three homers, 14 RBI and a team best 18 runs scored. Rea is hitting .269 with a team best nine doubles. Dakota McKaskle is 3-2 with a 2.61 ERA in six appearances and five starts on the season.

The Gorillas are 11-6 overall and 8-5 in the MIAA. They are 5-3 over their last eight games.  Five players have started all 17 games this season. Brad Foss is batting .403 with seven doubles, a home run and 15 RBI.  Evan Thomas is hitting .393 with three homers and 21 RBI while Bilovesky is batting .323 with a team best five home runs and 16 RBI.  Five pitchers have at least three starts led by Matt Stalcup with a 2-1 record and 3.12 ERA.  James Fitzgearlds has five saves and a 1.98 ERA out of the pen.

Emporia State is scheduled to host Southwest Baptist this weekend in a three game series at Trusler.
