Hornets shutout streak ends in 2-0 loss

Box Score October 5, 2013- The Nebraska-Kearney Lopers defeated Emporia State Soccer 2-0 Saturday at the Emporia HS Pitch. The  game was played today after being postponed Friday night due to inclement weather.

Montanna Hosterman scored on a free kick at the 30:45 mark of the first half to end a Hornets scoreless streak that had been carried over four-plus matches.

Hosterman was second goal off an assist from Kirsti Rheler. 

Freshman goal keeper Yadira Rivera made eight saves in the game for Emporia State. The Hornets are now 5-4-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the MIAA.

Emporia State will host the Fort Hays Tigers Sunday at the Emporia HS Pitch with a scheduled 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
