September 4, 2011 -- The Emporia State soccer team allowed a goal in the fifth minute before holding ECU scoreless, but could not find the equalizer in the 1-0 loss in Ada, Okla.

East Central got on the board as Ashley Bradford hit a chip shot from 20 yards out in the fifth minute. Karson Wilson had two shots on goal while Jordan Foutch, Hanah Carlson, Maggie Wilson and Sarah Anderson each also added a shot on frame.

In goal Nikki Schmitz had seven saves as she played the whole game between the pipes for the Hornets.

ESU will return home to face Northeastern State with a scheduled 4 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 8 from ESU Pitch.
