November 8, 2011-Emporia State was tied with defending NIT Champion Wichita State at 13-13 midway through the first half and trailed by just seven with under a minute left in the half before the Shockers went on a 16-0 run that spanned halftime on the way to an 82-43 victory in Koch Arena.

The Hornets were led in scoring by Antonio DeMaria with nine points while Tola Lowal added eight points. Derrell Conner led the team with five rebounds on the night.
