Fourth Nationally Ranked Opponent for Emporia State Men's Tennis

Hornets fall 7-0 to #13 Rollins

March 19, 2026-Playing their fourth nationally ranked opponent in their last five duals, the Emporia State men's tennis team fell 7-0 at #13 Rollins on Thursday afternoon in Winter Park, Fla.
 
The Tars took the opening point with 6-2 wins at the #2 and #3 positions. Rollins went in front 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-0 win by Nico De Giacomo over Alexis Mattenberger at #4 singles. Ninth ranked Lawson Prather gave Rollins a 3-0 lead at the #1 spot with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Mostafa Elbasnaly. RC clinched the dual win when Fabian Gusic defeated the Hornets Deigo Calvo 6-2, 6-3 at #2 singles.  Roko Kacer fell 6-3, 6-0 at #4, Luke West dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision at #3 singles and Duval Santiago Torres lost 6-2, 6-4 at the #5 spot to round out the dual.
 
The Hornets will wrap up their Spring Break trip to Florida on Friday against #8 Florida Southern at the USTA National Campus. First serve for Emporia State's fifth dual against a Top 50 foe in their last six duals is set for 2:30 pm (ET).
